The OSHA 10 & 30 hour courses cover General Industry occupational health and safety information (OSHA 29 CFR 1910) as it relates to cleaning, maintenance, grounds and restoration industry workers. Association for the Health Care Environment's (CSCT) certification training program for trainers sets a standard for surgical environmental services technicians responsible for cleaning and disinfecting operating rooms - an intense, fast-paced, high-stakes environment. House Cleaning Technician (HCT) IICRC Certification Course

Stone Maintenance Technician (SMT) IICRC Certification Course

Length: 16 hours over two consecutive days, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

This comprehensive "Hands-On" course, covers proper procedures, chemicals and equipment needed to identify, clean, maintain and restore all common types of stone, marble, granite, ceramic, concrete, and terrazzo flooring found in commercial and residential properties. Stone and tile cleaning and maintenance are profitable add-ons for janitorial and carpet cleaning companies. In most areas, billing rates for tile work start at $1.50 per square foot and go to as high as $15.00 to $25.00 per foot for granite restoration. This is income that is available to most cleaners for the asking with new and existing customers.

The course prepares attendees to take the IICRC SMT certification exam on day two of the course. This course involves at least 40% hands on student involvement, come prepared and dressed to clean and polish stone flooring. Apprentice/Basic Skills Courses (IICRC)

Length: 4 to 6 hours

These courses provide entry-level training for new hires and those not quite ready for the IICRC's formal 16-hour certification program. These six-hour introductory courses provide attendees with an overview of all the major components of the full certification course in a short and easy to follow abbreviated version. Each course includes a PowerPoint presentation, written handouts and at least 25% hands on participation. A certificate of completion is issued to each attendee who successfully completes an exam during the last hour of the course.

This presentation is designed to give contractors the latest techniques and information on bidding, estimating and preparing winning proposals for all types and sizes of accounts. Participants will learn how to estimate job costs and prepare bids that are profitable, accurate and effective in todayÕs competitive marketplace. In this "Hands-On" course the instructor will walk attendees through the process of identifying, reaching, and convincing potential customers and preparing an accurate bid and proposal for cleaning services for all types and sizes of buildings.

The instructor examines various specialty markets, what's involved in servicing each market and how to determine what your costs will be and how much you should charge in order to cover all labor, supply, equipment, overhead and profit. This is a hands-on seminar, during which you will calculate and prepare actual bids on case study buildings and be able to ask and have answered all your bidding and estimating questions. Students are encouraged to bring a small printing calculator along with bids, estimates, specifications, RFP's and other documents to work on and discuss during the course.

Professional Cleaning Technician Certification Training Programs

Length: Customizable

This training is offered in multiple formats with a variety of scheduling options based on the needs of each facility. Offered as an online instructor led virtual webinar or an in person, face-to-face seminar.

This course utilizes the "Comprehensive Custodial Training Manual" (CCTM) as the course curriculum. Each student is provided with a copy of this four-chapter manual or one chapter, depending on the length or subject matter focus of the instruction. There are four major chapters to the full course, the sections are offered as a standalone training program for each chapter or as a combined program over a 32-hour course of instruction.

Chapter 1 provides an introduction to professionalism, goals, values, and objectives, office and restroom cleaning, window washing, care of tools, supplies, and motion economy, chemical, equipment and supplies, Chapter 2 covers all types of hard floor care, including resilient, stone and clay tiles, plus wood floors. Hard floor care including stripping, scrubbing, burnishing, polishing and refinishing. Chapter 3 covers all aspects of rug and carpet care. The last section covers special area cleaning including cleaning metal, draperies, elevators, kitchens and hotels. Designed for supervisors, managers and owners or cleaning companies and inhouse custodial operations that wish to prepare for, meet and exceed the requirements of the International Sanitary Supply Association (www.ISSA.com) CIMS certification program. This three-hour workshop provides principals, teachers and administrators with the information, understanding and programs they need to effectively manage the custodial function in educational facilities of all types and size.

Cleaning Schools, Part 6 - Safety and Health for School Custodians

This six-hour program provides attendees with the information they need to work more safely on the job. The program is educational, entertaining, and interactive. By the end of the presentation participants will be able to see potentially hazardous situations, understand what causes most injuries on the job and be able to take action to avoid putting themselves in risky situations that frequently cause accidents. Meets State requirements for safety training in the workplace. Chemicals, Indoor Air Quality, blood and airborne pathogen precautions, ladder usage, fire safety and proper lifting procedures are covered.

Note: Any of the above courses may be altered to meet the specific needs of the audience.

Cleaning Industry Annual Dinner

Please join us for this Second Annual NW Cleaning Industry Dinner, sponsored in cooperation with the Carpet Cleaners Institute of the Northwest (CCINW), Service Paper Company and other local cleaning industry trade associations. All members of the local cleaning industry are welcome; you don't need to be an association member to attend.
