The OSHA 10 & 30 hour courses cover General Industry occupational health and safety information (OSHA 29 CFR 1910) as it relates to cleaning, maintenance, grounds and restoration industry workers. The course promotes the importance of hazard and risk assessment, The Global Harmonized System (GHS), administrative controls, work practices, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the implementation of controls to prevent accidents, injuries and toxic exposures that can impact worker health, wellness and performance.
The OSHA Hierarchy of Hazard Control is emphasized as a way to reduce reliance on the use of PPE and instead focus safety efforts on the reduction and or elimination of hazards through more effective means. To successfully complete the course each attendee must demonstrate that they possess the skill, knowledge and awareness to recognize potential hazards and are committed to taking action to prevent accidents and exposures on the job that will save lives and reduce costs by preventing injuries.

Frequently Asked Questions
What dates work best for you?
Answer: Whatever dates you have in mind will probably work for me as long as we can schedule 30-60 days in advance.
What’s your usual course format?
Answer: I prefer a face to face format vs Zoom, however both options or a combination of formats are available. I customize the training to the workplace and attendees and encourage as much hands on participation and interaction as possible. During the course, I utilize a combination of oral presentation and discussion, written materials and PowerPoint as well as individual and group exercises. Although OSHA requires specific topics be covered and a set number of hours of instruction on each, there is time for site and job specific subjects of choice in both the 10 and 30 hour programs. There are short written and performance exams at the end of the training.
Please include estimated hours per day, scheduled breaks, and how many days of instruction per course.
Answer: We can do this any way you like. I’d probably suggest starting with the OSHA 10 hour course spread out over 3 days, with 3.3 hrs. sessions each day or 4 days with 2.5 hour sessions daily or over one or two weeks or more in order to complete the 10 hour course, with a 10 – 15 min. breaks following every 1.5 – 2 hrs. of instruction. This approach reduces the time away from work for participants and allows for short between session assignments that relate to specific positions and work areas. However, if you prefer a different time format (such as two or more consecutive days of training or ?), I can adjust the training hours and days to meet the needs of your staff and organization. The 30 hr. OSHA course can be scheduled over four days or spread out over a longer period of time.
How many students can you host per course?
Answer: 15 to 20 is a good number. I can work with any number of attendees as long as it’s not over 30 participants. Group training requires a minimum of 10 attendees.
Can you schedule training during all three shifts or weekends and are you willing to travel to different locations?
Answer: Yes, I can provide the training you need, when and where you want it. Room, board and travel costs are in addition to instructional fees and a deposit is required.
What will your seminar cost?
Answer: I won’t have an exact cost until I have a better understanding of your needs, such as training location(s), number of students and how much customization of the program is needed, along with the current fees from Univ. CA. San Diego, that provides the 10 and 30 hr. OSHA cards. A rough estimate for the 10 hr. OSHA course ranges from $395.00 - $495.00 per attendee. The 30 hr. OSHA course ranges in cost from $695.00 – $995.00 per attendee.
